Karl "Spool" Stiegman, singer, songwriter, musician, producer, technician, musical computer programmer, recording studio owner and engineer, father, grandfather and One Man Band Extraordinare.

Spool is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana who has been performing his musical talents from coast to coast for over 35 years, playing guitar and synth keyboards. He expresses his strong vocal powers of all musical styles from the 40's though the present. His priority is top class musical entertainment professionalism to the max. His talent and dedicated perseverance to be his BEST are the main ingredients for his success.

In 1969, Spool became a member of the "Thunderhead" Band who was managed by WTIX New Orleans radio station and V.I.P. Productions. The sucessful band performed all over the Southern states and Gulf Coast area and were the opening act for many of the concerts at City Park Stadium such as "Vanilla Fudge" and the "Grass Roots".

Spool formed a group called "Pull Tight" in 1971, taking the best musicians from around the area. Spool and "Pull Tight" performed at many local night clubs and college campuses and built a large following.

In 1973, Spool became involved in a group called "Adams Apple". The "Adams Apple" performed at the hottest and classiest nightclubs in Fat City. The group also performed at many hotels and conventions in the Bourbon Street-French Quarter area. "Adams Apple" soon became a premiere act performing floor shows and concert tours.

Spool and "Adams Apple" signed a touring contract with a management company called Complex IV in 1974. "Adams Apple" began spreading that New Orleans fever all over the country. The band merged together with the professional comic team Larry Allen and Mike Shane and soon became top headliners in the hotel show rooms of New York City. "Adams Apple" and Allen and Shane comic show performed from Canada to Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

Complex IV Management Company selected Spool to put together a new band made up of best musicians from all over the country. He soon formed the group "Plum Fancy". Spool and "Plum Fancy" became a very popular high energy dance band from coast to coast. "Plum Fancy" merged together with Buddha Records recording star "Jimmy Jackson" and began thrilling audiences all over the U.S.A.

Spool returned home to New Orleans in 1978 and began playing with different bands around the city. He also ran the and conducted the Talent Shows at Ponchartrain Beach on Saturday and Sunday nights.

Spool formed a group called "Breeze" who began playing at Molly Maquires in Fat City for 3 years. In 1981, the group moved to Larry's Villa and began performing there for years. From the oldies to pop to country the group built a large local following. "Breeze" moved to the Godfather's Lounge in Fat City in 1984 and continued to entertain audiences with their sound and songs.

Spool began pursuing a solo career in 1986, Known as "Spool And The Gang", working with a computer system that sounds like a whole complete vocal orchestra, he is a one-man band Extraordinare. His has performed steadily over the years at such places as:

Spool performed at Salvatore's on the weekends for two years with a local
Star cast of members called "Smooth Groove", featuring the likes of Recording Star Terri Lynn, Barry Rodrique and Jody Haydell-1997-1999.

Spool also has his own recording studio known as "Top Star Productions".

Featuring four top hit songs: Saints Are Real At Last, Worlds Free Greatest Party, Long Gone Pecan and Queen Of Queens. All co-written with local song writer and produced with CJ Chris. Spool and CJ were honored with a front page cover story in the Metairie Times -Picayune featuring their release of the CD "The Saints Are Real At Last"
